The rights of parents and children with disability in the child safety system are a key concern for advocates across Queensland, and QIDAN unequivocally endorses the recommendations made in the Office of the Public Advocate’s report.

QIDAN is a member of the National Advocacy Collective (NAC)—a group of people from around Australia who support the rights of parents with intellectual disability. On 23rd July 2025, QIDAN, in partnership with the NAC, sent a letter to the Disability Minister in support of the Office of the Public Advocate’s report “Supporting parents with cognitive disability in Queensland’s child protection system”.
