QIDAN Letter of Support of ACIE’s ‘Let all kids learn together’ campaign

The Queensland Government recently announced the largest investment into special schools in Queensland, proposing the funding of six new special schools. QIDAN has deep concerns about the significant expansion of special schools, which we believe is a decision that is entrenched in segregation and opposed to the rights of students with disability. We also note that the new investment into special schools opposes the findings and recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission.

In July 2025, QIDAN supported the Australian Coalition for Inclusive Education’s (ACIE) letter of opposition to the expansion of special schools and co-located segregated education in Queensland and endorsed the ACIE’s “Let All Kids Learn Together” campaign. A copy of QIDAN’s letter addressed to the Premier and Minister of Education can be found at the link below.
