QIDAN has provided a submission to the Australian Government on its draft seventh periodic report under the UN Convention Against Torture, highlighting the slow progress in implementing the Disability Royal Commission’s (DRC) recommendations.
Our independent analysis found that, three years after the DRC Final Report, 113 recommendations had no updates and 81 remained in the early stages of implementation. We are calling for greater transparency and urgent action to ensure the DRC’s vision of a more inclusive Australia becomes a reality.
