This submission responds to the proposed new NDIS Framework Planning Rules. It draws on frontline advocacy experience supporting people with disability to navigate the NDIS and highlights where planning processes need improvement. The paper outlines key recommendations to ensure the new framework is transparent, fair, consultative, and centered on participants’ rights, needs, and goals. It also calls for stronger safeguards so NDIS planning better supports people with disability to participate fully in social and economic life.
The rules will govern how the NDIA will make decisions in developing a new framework plan for a participant. In this short submission, we comment on our most significant concerns that must be addressed by the rules.
