QIDAN’s submission to the Review of Queensland’s Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Framework calls for stronger legal protections and a more accessible complaints process for people with disability.
It makes eight key recommendations, including simplifying discrimination laws, recognising intersectional discrimination, clarifying the responsibilities of publicly funded organisations, introducing a positive duty to prevent discrimination, and expanding protections against disability vilification. QIDAN urges the Queensland Government to act on recommendations already supported through previous reviews and ensure people with disability can exercise their rights, access justice and participate fully in the community.
